Welcome to
Mindful Coaching & Counseling
At Mindful Coaching & Counseling we provide life coaching for anyone looking to heal from the wounds of spiritual abuse and church hurt.
Spiritual Abuse
Spiritual abuse occurs when Scripture, spiritual authority, or religious language is used to control, manipulate, intimidate, or silence another person—rather than to love, serve, and point them toward Christ.
At its core, spiritual abuse distorts God’s character. It replaces grace with fear, relationship with control, and freedom with obligation. While it often happens in churches or faith-based settings, it is not a reflection of God’s heart.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” — Galatians 5:1
What Does Spiritual Abuse (Church Hurt) Look Like
Spiritual abuse is not always loud or obvious. It can be subtle and confusing, especially for sincere believers who want to honor God.
It may include:
Using Scripture to shame, threaten, or control behavior
Teaching that questioning leaders equals disobedience to God
Equating spiritual maturity with compliance or silence
Manipulating fear of judgment, rejection, or loss of salvation
Discouraging outside counsel or healthy boundaries
Claiming special spiritual authority that cannot be challenged
Blaming suffering or abuse on a lack of faith or submission
Often, survivors are told they are “rebellious,” “bitter,” or “not trusting God” when they express pain or concern.
How Christian Life Coaching Can Support You
Christian life coaching offers a supportive space to process church hurt or any spiritual abuse while focusing on growth and forward movement. In coaching, you are not told what to believe or where to belong. Instead, you are supported as you:
Clarify what you believe about God apart from harmful experiences
Strengthen discernment and personal agency
Move forward with peace, confidence, and spiritual integrity
Reconnect with faith in a way that feels life-giving.
You are allowed to heal without rushing.
You are allowed to question without fear.
And you are allowed to hope again.

Vision Statement
We believe that God created you with purpose, strength, and the ability to grow—even through pain. In trauma-informed coaching, we understand how past experiences can shape your beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. We also know that healing and transformation are possible.
We are not here to fix you. Our role is to walk alongside you as a guide and encourager, helping you see what’s already within you, as you pursue clarity, healing, growth, and purpose. With prayerful support and practical guidance, we’ll help you navigate life’s challenges and take confident steps toward your next chapter.
Please note: Life coaching is not clinical counseling or therapy. While we provide trauma-informed coaching, if you're experiencing an emotional crisis or need clinical support, we encourage you to connect with a licensed mental health professional in your area. Life coaching can complement therapeutic work, but it does not replace it.
